With all of Park City bars, restaurants, night clubs and concert venues just a short bus ride away, you can bet that the late night scene is sure to please evening entertainment seekers. The actual Canyons night life scene is quite mellow since the base village typically shuts down right after dinner. That’s when party-goers jump on the free bus into Park City. Park City has several live music venues, like Park City Live and the Eccles Center, which feature varied world-class performances that will delight every musical preference. You can also catch local live music at the Egyptian Theater, The Spur Bar and Riverhorse on Main.
Most Canyons bars are strictly après hot spots or restaurants, so late night adventures are left to Park City, specifically Main Street. There you’ll find historic saloons, like No Name, local spots, like Utah’s first brewery, the Wasatch Brew Pub, or High West Distillery, for handcrafted whiskey, and live music bars−don’t miss The Spur or Flannagan’s−and even nightclubs, like the Sidecar, or Downstairs, a dark little spot that bumps pop/electronic mixes late into the night.
The newly renovated base village−2010−has vamped up Canyons après ski scene. While it’s certainly not on par with say, Aspen , Squaw, or Jackson Hole, the Ski Beach area lends itself to lounging crowds on sunny afternoons. If you want to get the party started while the lifts are still spinning, head to Lookout Cabin. Located at the top of Golden Eagle and Short Cut lift, you’ll find a more traditional European style on-mountain après experience at Lookout. To mingle with locals or watch a sports game, head to Drafts. For an upscale après hour pop in to the Grand Summit’s Cabin restaurant and lounge.
