    Deer Valley Intermediate Skiing

The vast Deer Valley intermediate skiing terrain is largely responsible for the resort’s ranking in SKI Magazine as the No. 1 resort in North America. Deer Valley is an intermediate skier’s dream with wide-open groomers, glades and bowls and world-class grooming capabilities. And it’s only getting better with each coming year. Deer Valley recently expanded snowmaking capabilities to more terrain in Empire Canyon and purchased additional low-energy, air-water snowmaking guns and five additional Prinoth Snowcats, including one Beast Groomer.

    Deer Valley Intermediate Terrain

A whopping 41-percent of Deer Valley terrain is designated as intermediate. Trails are groomed daily, and it’s safe to say that snow conditions are generally as perfect as they can possibly be. If you’ve recently progressed to skiing intermediate runs, Little Baldy is a great zone, with shorter, wide intermediate runs that lead to easier green runs to give your legs a break. Just don’t take Jordanelle, which is a double-blue or advanced intermediate. The blues off of Silver Lake Express lift also intermingle with beginner runs, providing new intermediate’s with a rest and the perfect opportunity to advance their skiing in a comfortable way.

Bald Mountain is an intermediate skier’s paradise with long, pristine blue-square groomers like Nabob, Keno and Tycoon, which is a double blue-square run. Be sure to ski down Stein’s Way, which flanks Perseverance Bowl, allowing intermediate’s to explore bowl skiing. All the blue-square trails off of Northside Express is also don’t-miss terrain. For more intermediate bowl skiing you’ll want to head to the top of Empire and cruise down Orion or Supreme which border Empire Bowl.

    Deer Valley Mountain Tours

Since Deer Valley does have double blue-square, or advanced intermediate terrain, and bowl skiing that features both expert and intermediate skiing, a complimentary mountain tour is highly recommended to better acclimate first-time visitors. Tours meet at 10 a.m. at Carpenter Express or 1:30 p.m. at Sterling Express.
