Thanks to an awesome array of off-mountain things to do and experience, a vacation to Breckenridge does not have to revolve around skiing, even though the skiing at Breckenridge Ski Resort is superb. Downtown Breckenridge has been called “the perfect mountain town” for good reason. The town is full of charming shops, art galleries and historic Victorian buildings; there are tons of restaurants, taverns, pubs, nightlife hotspots, and even arcades. Plus, Breckenridge has a packed calendar of events that include concerts, contests, races, competitions, arts and crafts and more.

    Downtown Breckenridge

Be sure to devote some time to walking along Main Street in downtown Breckenridge. The shops that line the street, the restaurants tucked into nooks and crannies, and the bars and clubs that go off until late, all contribute to Breckenridge being dubbed “the perfect mountain town.” To catch incredible live performances head to the town’s new indoor/outdoor theater the Riverwalk Center. Or see Breckenridge’s mining-era history come to life at the Barney Ford House Museum or Edwin Carter Museum (two prominent historical Breck residents) or take one of the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance’s walking tours.

The Breckenridge Welcome Center, located in Blue River Plaza in the heart of downtown, is a great spot to stop into if you have any questions about what to do or where to go in Breckenridge.

    Breckenridge Outdoor Activities
