Solden

Solden is nice, not as expansive or famous as several other European resorts, but still with plenty of potential. On a good snow year there’s lots of room to spread out and ski off-piste. On a bad snow year it gets crowded on the runs and quite a bottleneck to get back down. We unfortunately arrived during a bad stretch of snow, with temps in the mid to high 40’s. While we skied 6 straight days, with difficult snow conditions the groomed runs got a little boring. After a couple days of battling the crowds at the end of the day we decided to take the gondola down, it worked out much better. The highlight of the week was unexpected, the James Bond Museum is worth taking a morning or afternoon off and checking it out. Bond fan or not it’s surprisingly good. There’s a lot of potential at Solden, a good snow year we could have been all over the mountain and had a lot of fun. As it was, we found ourselves a bit too limited. Check the snow reports!
